Prior to building Team Concepts into a nationally recognized professional development firm, Joshua E. Erickson established himself as a visionary entrepreneur and culture builder in Kearney, Nebraska. Since founding Team Concepts in 2006, Josh has led the organization under the guiding philosophy “We Capture Human Potential,” empowering individuals and organizations to become engaged, valued, and fulfilled. Over the past two decades, he has delivered more than 1,000 engagement workshops, keynote addresses, and coaching programs, helping leaders align vision, people, and execution to create meaningful, lasting impact.
Josh brings more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning business, nonprofit, public service, military service, and collegiate athletics. Known by clients as a visionary with a hands-on, practical approach, he blends high-energy leadership with disciplined execution. Through keynote speaking, training, consulting, executive coaching, and immersive retreats, Josh equips organizations to transform culture, strengthen unity, and uncover the hidden talents and strengths within their people; moving teams from intention to action.
Beyond Team Concepts, Josh has built and led multiple entrepreneurial ventures. He is the co-founder of RockIT Event Pros, an entertainment company created to improve the quality of life for hardworking Nebraska families through large-scale, family-friendly attractions. Through JNE, LLC, he has managed construction projects, capital campaigns, commercial leasing, and property development, including a 110-unit apartment complex. In hospitality, Josh previously co-founded Sozo American Cuisine and NRM, LLC.
Josh’s leadership philosophy is deeply shaped by athletics and coaching. As Head Wrestling Coach at Hastings College, he transformed the program’s national ranking from 82nd to 7th in the country within two years. At the University of Nebraska at Kearney, he served as Assistant Wrestling Coach, focusing on the emotional, cultural, and character development of athletes in a program associated with three NCAA National Championships. His coaching approach develops not only strong competitors, but strong men, leaders, and teammates.
A Gallup Strengths Certified Coach, Josh is the creator of extensive proprietary curriculum and engagement tools used by organizations nationwide. His intellectual property includes “Generational Vantage,” a multi-generational workforce engagement system, and “Be Kind 4 Life,” a pioneering inclusion curriculum designed to foster belonging and social development in public schools. He is also known for trademarked experiential learning tools such as the Tarp Maze, Marble Tower, and GTKY Poker, which build trust, unity, and team cohesion through hands-on engagement.
Grounded in faith and service, Josh previously served in the Nebraska Army National Guard for twelve years, rising to the role of Recruiting and Retention Non-Commissioned Officer. He has also served his community through civic leadership, including as Interim CEO of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce, where he balanced budgets and restructured membership systems, and through board service with organizations such as 1 City International and the Central Nebraska Human Resource Management Association.
At his core, Josh’s life mission is simple and unwavering: to positively change the world by empowering people to LIVE. He defines this through three guiding commitments for every individual and organization he serves: Be Engaged. Be Valued. Be Fulfilled. His work—across business, coaching, community, and culture—is anchored in one enduring belief: We Capture Human Potential.
